Life can be messy and complicated. It can also be inspiring and beautiful. There are a lot of twists and turns! I have dealt with my own life challenges and have tried to embrace them ALL. They have been some of my best teachers. My life experiences are paths to self-discovery – they allow me to learn about myself, grow as a human being, and connect more deeply to the world around me. They have also taught me the importance of doing my own self-work.
I received both a B.A in Psychology and a Master of Social Work from the University of Kentucky. In addition, I have over 10 years of professional experience helping others. My career has involved working in a variety of areas, including: domestic violence and sexual assault; HIV/AIDS; terminal illness; grief and loss; traumatic spinal cord injuries; substance abuse; and, community mental health
Psychotherapy involves navigating life’s challenges, breaking free from old ideas and patterns that are no longer serving you, and healing old wounds. Psychotherapy fosters self-discovery and requires that you make a commitment to yourself. It involves learning new skills. On our journey together, we will identify your own life challenges and create solutions that will help you achieve your goals. I work with each individual from a person-centered perspective, using a variety of therapeutic approaches that are tailored to meet your specific needs. Your treatment plan will be collaborative and highly individualized. You will feel valued, supported, and understood during your therapy process. I may suggest a book for you to read or a therapeutic homework assignment that will help put new skills into practice
I accept cash, check, and most major credit cards. I also accept most major health insurances.
